What other Authors have said:

Pat Heim, author of Hardball for Women and In the Company of Women: “I am always
surprised how many people think they are great communicators because they are ‘consistent’
speak with everyone the same way. [This book] is helpful in explaining why and how it is
important to flex your style based on the needs of the other person.  I am sure it will help others.”

Lois Frankel, author of Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office and Nice Girls Don’t Get Rich: “I
especially like the self-assessment, learning about the strengths/development areas, and the
coaching tips [that are provided] for both personal development and interpersonal
communication.  [The] examples are on-target and [the] style of writing is easy and fun to read.”

Jean M. Otte, author of Changing the Corporate Landscape: “This book is a must read for all
those folks who really do think that life would be so simple if only people behaved the way they
do.  It offers simple yet effective assessments to help identify which is your preferred style of
communication and tools to help understand how to improve communication with others.”

"Everyone should read this book!
This is an excellent book! I've recommended it to everyone I know. Most communication books
only help you understand what your personal communication style is, but Ms. Browne's book
goes way beyond just understanding yourself. She also helps you easily unlock the mystery of
the communication styles of the people you are speaking with, explains why your styles can
sometimes clash, and then shows you how to bridge the gap between your speaking style and
the listening style of the person you are speaking with so that what you say can finally be heard
in the most effective way possible. This information has made all the difference in the world for
me in all sorts of situations (although the book is geared towards women in an office setting, I
use it whenever I am speaking with someone who has a different communication style than me
to make sure I can get my point across and get my needs met in the most effective way
possible.) Whether at the dentist's or writing a memo to a co-worker, the information in this
book has helped me finally deal effectively with people who I dreaded speaking to - you know,
those people you have to deal with for one reason or another but who are either too
intimidating, or gruff, or who just seemed to never listen to a word you said. With the
information in this book I am finally able to get my points across and deal effectively with even
the most difficult people in my life. And it's not just helpful for speaking with women, it works
great when dealing with men, too! You've really got to read this one!"
